I started sailing when I was 7 years old on Lake Manuwai in the Bay of Islands. I immediately fell in love with the feeling of being on the water and couldn’t get enough. I then moved to the Bay of islands Yacht club where I was able to progress and start racing the junior boats Opti and P class. I transitioned to the youth classes of 29er and Nacra 15 when I was 12 and got the opportunity to represent New Zealand at two youth worlds in my years of sailing them. From there I started sailing faster foiling boats such as the Nacra 17. Recently I have transitioned to the 49erFX and plan to Olympic campaign in the class, I have my eyes set on LA in 2028. I am also completing a degree in Environmental science.
Everything in my life revolves around the ocean and whenever I’m not coaching, I’ll be on the water enjoying the environment in some other way. I am super excited to be working at NBYC and hope to share some of the skills I have learnt along the way with the next generation.
