The RS Feva class is growing momentum in New Zealand and this year the class nationals will be held at Northcote Birkenhead Yacht Club from the 23-25 March.

Yacht clubs from all over the country are embracing the RS Feva as a way to introduce youngsters to double-handed sailing and its increased popularity should see a decent-sized fleet at the national championships.

Sailors from all over the country will gather with friends and race to find the new National Champions. This class is a lot of fun and also very social.

At this stage, sailors will be represented from Royal Akarana Yacht Club, Wakatere Boating Club, Buckland’s Beach Yacht Club, Torbay Sailing Club, Manly Sailing Club and Northcote Birkenhead Yacht Club with many more set to enter.

Current national and world champions Eli Liefting and Rose Dickson have retired from the class, but will be passing their knowledge onto the next generation at pre-event coaching sessions at Royal Akarana Yacht Club. Eli and Rose won the worlds in Medemblik, The Netherlands, in July 2017. 180 teams from around the world were represented and the Kiwi sailors won the event when they crossed the finish line for the final race.
