Learn to Sail & Training programs run right through the season for Juniors, High School Students and Adults.
Important Notes
Clothing: Please ensure you are suitably dressed. Preferably a wetsuit and beach shoes but any warm and wind–proof jacket will do.
Footwear: footwear must be worn at all times and an old pair of gym shoes or sneakers will be fine. We recommend you bring both wet and dry shoes.
Life Jacket / Buoyancy Aid:Must be worn on all boats. If you have a life jacket / buoyancy aid then bring it.
(The club does have a limited supply of buoyancy aids, however it is far better to have your own.)
NBYC has:
15 x Optimists
6 x X3s
3 x 420s
These boats can be used for a 3 month usage fee, payable in advance. (plus repair cost for any damage)
Duty Roster
The Club operates a duty roster for all parents / guardians of members. Each parent / guardian will be rostered on a minimum of once every two weeks to assist with the on water / off water help that is needed in the Learn to Sail coaching of your children.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you or a replacement is there on the days required.
Fun & Games
Family Sailing: NBYC encourages parents to join in with their kids and learn to sail, or if an experienced sailor, on any of the Level two and three race days.
Social Functions: NBYC endeavours to have two evening BBQ or social function at the club during both the Spring and Summer programmes.
